Work Besties! Theme Song Written by Ralph Lentini @therallyband

Jess:

Hello everybody, welcome back to Work Besties who podcast. Today we're diving into a topic that's timely and also deeply personal. It's something that many have probably had happen to themselves or maybe know of other people, and that's identity theft. We're going to discuss how this can impact you and those around you, and we're going to do that today with our guest, dr Joan. She's here to guide us through the emotional and spiritual recovery process that often gets overlooked when you're dealing with any type of identity theft or financial problems. So Joan comes with us with many years of experience. She's a transformational guide, she's an advocate for personal empowerment and just an all-around amazing individual who will help us understand some practical tools and holistic healing. Hi, I'm Claude.

Claude:

And I'm Jess. We are corporate employees by day, entrepreneurs by night and work besties for life.

Jess:

Join us as we explore how work besties lift each other up, laugh through the chaos and thrive together in every industry. Work besties.

Joan:

Welcome. Wow, what a great introduction. I'm really excited to be here and the funny part about it is I'm looking at the two of you. I actually feel like one of your besties coming on, Even though we just met.

Claude:

Yeah, the aura going through.

Joan:

Yes, the energy it's like okay, I want to spill my heart out here, Perfect.

Jess:

It's working Well. We're so excited to have you. I found your background and your journey so fascinating, so if you wouldn't mind giving our listeners a little bit of details on kind of who you are and how you got to what you to this kind of part of your career.

Joan:

Wow, okay. Well, I'm going to give you a shortened version. My entire life I was always yeah, I'm a Pisces. I had a lot of empathy and compassion for people. I have wanted to heal people my entire life. If you were hurting, and even as a little girl, if I could put my hands on you, I would be happy if I could make you feel better. And I spent my whole life trying to make people feel better, and ultimately I became a chiropractor, which allowed me to do hands-on healing and take care of people.

Joan:

I discovered two things as a chiropractor. Number one, my hands really knew what they were doing, far more than my mind, because if you chatted to me while you were on the table, my hands knew what was going on with you. My mind did not. But the second thing I learned is that I just learned the gift of really helping to support and raise people's vibrational energies, no matter what. So all that worked well until I had a boyfriend that turned out to be a cheat, a liar, and conned me out of half a million dollars, leaving me and my kids destitute. Now we did break down, just so, you know, lost everything, but my kids and I started to come together, I knew I needed to get back to masterminding, which is what I did in my office. We came together and we formed a group we called the Miracle Makers Club, and so we called ourselves the Miracle Makers Club and we set out to create miracles on our life so that we can have a better life Now. I went on to write a book. I went on to win millions of dollars in a lawsuit because the kids actually helped me with this miracle mastery and I launched my book as Miracle Makers Club and after that I started really teaching people how to make miracles in your life. And at one point I received instructions to paint 33 angels in 30 days, which got me named Joan of Angels. And Lord knows, here I am Now.

Joan:

In the past year, I've come to realize that my whole entire structure is being hacked Three people using my social security number that I know of. I caught someone trying to get a loan right in front of my eyes. I caught someone not only hacking my computer, but they got into my password protector and I watched them put dirty words as my passwords I'll never forget. I actually watched a password Granted. It was like a stupid password that I'll never use again, but there's changing into some sex thing. Could not believe that.

Joan:

So I woke up to the fact that, doesn't matter how angelic I might think I am, there's a world down here that I have to pay attention to and I had to really dive into. How do I protect my identity? How do I protect? How do I pay for legal services when we know an attorney is like $400 an hour? How do I like, how do I really rework my systems to manage? And that's where I am today. I have found systems and I offer a lot of services and coaching, living your best life. But I also offer services where you can resolve your issues here on the planet, where you can resolve them and you can actually create it in a way that you earn income from it and help your friends Become besties with people who really work together, which I love. I love this concept. So that's the shortened version of my world.

Jess:

I have so many questions Like where do we start? Joan, that was very interesting. Let's talk about healing. Yeah Right, I mean it's. The whole story is really impressive and there's so many things I think you can teach us and we can learn from you on, I know. For me, the part that I would love to dive a little bit more into is you talked about the miracle portion of it.

Claude:

That's where I was going.

Jess:

Tell us more. I'm like very curious on what that means Sweet.

Joan:

So my book has just been released, called the Miracle Makers Club Manifest Miracles Daily. So it's the second version of this book. It's really new. So you can all everything I say is in there. But but you know, miracles are unexpected things, unexpected events that can literally shift your life. It could be a check that comes from nowhere. It could be an angel intervening in a car accident. All these things, all these stories.

Joan:

George Norrie, the big famous I was on his show the other night. He talks about an old man comes and wakes him up in the middle of the night and tells him to go downstairs and wake up his family because he can see the burning fire. When they talked to the police chief outside and said, well, you know, a fireman came in. Who was he? We want to thank him because he woke George up. George saved his family's life. There was no fire chief, unexplained miracles. So we have the ability to not only experience an unexplained miracle, we have the ability, by changing our vibrational frequency, we have the ability to attract miraclesational frequency. We have the ability to attract miracles, attract good things, attract things that can actually uplift our own life and the lives of our families. We have that ability within us if we learn how to change or work with our own vibrational energies.

Jess:

And are there some simple tips or things for us to think about that we could do to help tap into that? Yeah, like how?

Joan:

Funny, I didn't even tell you about the Miracle Mastery Switch and you picked it up.

Jess:

No, Claude, I knew you were doing this.

Joan:

You already picked it up. So I talk about and I teach my clients how to use the Miracle Mastery Switch, and I'm going to teach you right now. Okay, there is a switch. So I became a chiropractor. Guys, I've been a chiropractor I don't even want to tell you over 40 years a long time and my main mission as a chiropractor has always been to help people leap over tall buildings in a single bound like Superman. Help people leap over tall buildings in a single bound like Superman.

Joan:

More energy than you even know what to do with vitality. And so I discovered that there is a switch in our body. It's actually, if you put your hand at the base of your skull, it's almost like an indentation and that's where the neck goes into the skull. There are two bones there and they look like this this is one and this is the other, like a ring, and if it's out of alignment which it gets very simply always it puts pressure on any information coming from the brain to the spinal cord. So it's a switch. It literally is a switch because, because we want all the information when we, when you get adjusted or when you meditate, you're trying to connect with source. That energy has to come through us and if it's closed, ain't enough going to get through. So when I talk about the Miracle Mastery Switch, there's all see, you're feeling it now. When it gets turned on, first of all, your whole body can heal of anything that's wrong with it. Second of all, you can start can heal of anything that's wrong with it. Second of all, you can start to receive more information that wakes up all parts of your body, wakes up your cells, for healing, but also for miracles.

Joan:

It's a way to raise your vibrational frequency. What is a vibrational frequency? It's the energy you resonate out in the universe. If you're in anger all the time and we all know angry people your vibrational frequency is low. You're putting out bad, juju. So what do you get back from the universe, Juju? Thank you. You're brilliant, Claude. Yes, but if we're putting out positivity and light and love, what do we get back? And love, yeah, and so what does the universe reward us with? So the people we need to meet, the job that we need, the materials that we need, everything starts coming towards us because we become a magnet for miracles.

Claude:

Simple. So let me ask you something, because we all have at some point, even in the corporate world and work, but also in our life, where you get those angry people towards us. So, even if we have this light inside us and we have this positivity, but then you get those people, those angry people coming, those low frequency people coming at you, what can you do to actually stop them?

Joan:

Great, question what do you do when all your systems are being attacked? You put up a protective shield, number one. So I don't know if you've ever heard of psychic protection or energy protection, but for instance, during the pandemic I don't know about you, but walking into the supermarket was freaky All you see is people with masks and everyone's in panic. What did I do? I energetically put on like my love suit, really my miracle making suit, my angel suit depended on the day.

Joan:

I have fun with this I energetically would protect us and I would do something called fluffing my wings, literally. And then I'd walk in and so I would be humming. I would try to create my own energy, so under and I've recommended this to a lot of people under my breath I would hum and the humming sort of also shifted my energy. Look, when we go into a supermarket and I could tell you girls are empaths, you're very in tune and we go into a supermarket and it's a couple that was standing by the meat market had a big fight right before we walk in, they leave their energy right there and we unprotected, unprotected innocents walk in and wonder why we start to lose energy and we start to feel drained in the supermarket or the shopping center because of that. So we create our own little universe wherever we go, that's my secret.

Jess:

So if others come at you with that negativity, the more you're like doubling down on your positivity.

Joan:

Yeah, yeah, just sending everything back to them. Let's source take care of it. You're sending me all that negative vibration, boom, and you want it back. You're going to get it back. That's all there is to it, and we don't engage. The object is their object is to create chaos and fear. Our object is we can transform that into fuel for our own magic.

Jess:

That's a really powerful lesson, because a lot of times you either try and make them happy or you become down to their level, which makes then both of you angry. And in this example, what you're saying is like do neither of that be you and continue to put that positive energy out there.

Joan:

Yeah, and it takes training, training, because we're not trained Listen. Our school system doesn't teach us to meditate. It doesn't teach us to listen to our inner voice. We have to train ourselves to be more aware of what is going on in the world around us so we can manage better.

Claude:

So for the people that not to name myself but that always think too much, meditating is for me extremely difficult because I cannot shut that little voice inside me. Why would you recommend for people like me, for example, to know and how to?

Joan:

center? That's even a better question. All these are great questions. So for me, I have that problem too. My mind has about a thousand thoughts in it at the same time. Now I learned two things. Number one only one thought can really exist in your head at a time. It's either positive or negative. So when I find myself going bananas, I start to use an affirmation that calms me down, very simple I am safe, all is well, and I'll repeat it about a thousand times if I need it, if I'm that out of balance.

Joan:

But there's something I do with my meditation. This is how I began to meditate because I couldn't focus either. I had one or two decks of oracle cards they were all about angels and I would sit down with my coffee in the morning and go into a quiet space, light a candle. So I told myself this is special, and then I would pull one or two or three cards and then I would just sit quietly and I'd write down whatever came through. And that's how I really began to connect with the other side, how I began to connect with my own energetics. So I use, use, and so I recommend that also because it gives you something else to focus on. It's like, yeah, the card says you're gonna, I'm gonna, meet some very special people today, so then I'd have that expectation. Or, you know, the cards would say there's something that you're hiding from yourself, and so, as I'd, I could realize, begin to realize what that was. And walking, I like to walk, and when I walk I kind of do all sorts of things. I'll do affirmations, repeat, you know.

Jess:

You've got a lot to try out there. Cloud yes, right, you do your walking too, and from commuting, so you can incorporate that in there.

Joan:

Yes, you can. You literally can, and you could listen to a meditation tape or walking, think of it as a walking meditation and quiet your mind.

Jess:

So, parlaying this a little bit, it sounds like similar to the positive energy put out there. You were saying even with all the manifesting of positivity and channeling and meditation, there's still that risk of identity theft. So the other part of your story, your introduction, that intrigued me was that you got hacked three different times. Walk us through. So how did you find out you were hacked and what are kind of tips people could do to avoid that if possible?

Joan:

So I'm going to tell you something hacking happens to everyone, no matter how spiritual you are. And now I work with a lot of people in the new age spiritual community and they'll say oh Joan, I protect myself energetically, you know, I do all the psychic, and so nothing's going to happen to me. And those people are some of the ones that are getting hacked, just so you know.

Jess:

So, really an interesting thing I'm sure everybody is. I mean, I think that I'm smart about constantly changing my passwords, and I think sometimes I change them too much because I can't even remember them. But I've been hacked a number of times too, so it happens to everyone.

Joan:

It does happen to everyone and right now, if you're a Gmail user, gmail if Forbes released something about again millions or billions of Gmail users have been hacked, have been hacked Billions of people's social security. So how did I wake up to it? Very slowly, because I'm dense. Years and years ago, I was audited by the IRS and they told my accountant that someone else had my social security number and they just it was no big deal. I started to panic and all of them looked at me like I was crazy for having a reaction. This was like 2005 or six whenever I was audited. Okay, next, moving forward. Then, a few years later, I discovered that someone had used my social security number to get a T-Mobile account. T-mobile didn't care. Then I get a letter from the IRS telling me that three people are using my social security number. No big deal, seriously, this is like what they're saying no big deal.

Joan:

I then pivoted from you know being all the way up in the clouds painting angels and you know to oh my God, what has gone wrong down here? What am I going to do? I called everyone, I called the police, I called the social security office, I called the IRS. They rolled their eyes at you. There's nothing they want to do for you as an individual, unless you get a power player involved like an attorney. So I discovered that I was almost useless by myself. And, by the way, I wanted to say if you have a password that you can memorize, it's not a good password. Sweetheart, do not try to memorize your passwords. Use a password manager. But if you can memorize your password, it's simple enough for someone else, because you now have 50 to 100 passwords, because we have so many. So that's how I woke up to it.

Joan:

And then the summer it got awful. There was an announcement about 2.5 billion social security numbers being hacked and I woke up to somebody trying to get a payday loan in my name and again I went into a spiral, a downward spiral, because I couldn't focus. I was rewriting my book and here it was. Here you know in my face that, oh my God, john, there's gaps in your physicality, and so I. It's almost like a real miracle story, because I told people that I knew pretty well. I mentioned it to them. It just so happened that they were beginning to work with this company.

Joan:

That makes it a habit of protecting your identity, and so I reached out to get identity shield protection, and then I also realized I needed legal protection, because to go after some of these people to protect my own identity, to get some of it back, required both to protect my identity and my legal self, if that makes sense. And so I began to clean up some of my issues and discovered that I could also. My friends started to get very excited. They loved it, and so then I discovered I could earn extra money, I could build a business by sharing this earthly protection, at the same time still be into miracles and miracles down here, financial miracles to protect ourselves. And I didn't even mention Facebook hacks, by the way, because my Facebook had gotten hacked about four years ago, but they always do. Yes, but I got also emails from people that said, oh Joan, I donated $600 to you.

Jess:

Oh no.

Joan:

And so I had people that were donating money to me. Now, if I had this protection now, I could offer it to them to get their money back. I was horrified.

Jess:

Well, that's horrible, I feel like. Then this is probably an answer. You're going to say I kind of gave this to you already, but what are those kind of common misconceptions people have about protecting their identity?

Joan:

Well, the passwords are. The password protection is really critical and I discovered that the hard way. I already told you that part. But you can also protect yourself by having a service that you know that screens dark web, that looks to see if your emails are being hacked, of which I had one I had to get rid of. I had this one, dr Joan, at Miracle Makers Club, that I think that, and I used a very simple password like miracles. Of course it was hacked of. I had this one, dr Joan, at Miracle Makers Club, that I think that, and I used a very simple password like miracles. Of course it was hacked, you know.

Jess:

I had to actually shut it. Password of the actual name yes.

Joan:

You know, and so I had to change that. Obviously, when I shut, I had to shut that particular email down because it couldn't be resurrected. But I have a service now that screens my social media. No-transcript on your social security number and they're taking out mortgages and suddenly you get a bill that you owe thousands of dollars. So you're protected with this company up to $3 million. They hire private investigators to go out and start to clean up your mess and start to make a big deal about the things that they seem to think we should just deal with.

Jess:

So in addition to kind of best practices, it's have some other support system or something you need a support system, because without an attorney you are just nothing.

Joan:

The IRS doesn't listen to you, they don't take your, they're not going to run and get rid of those other people on your social security number. Without that kind of support we don't get that much done. So I've tried it. So of course, I'm a member now of LegalShield. I have an attorney in my pocket right or on my phone. So I have been trying it for several things and one of them was that someone tried to cheat me. You know that I checked out and it was like $24.95 and I took a screenshot of it, thank God. And then when they billed me, when I saw the invoice, it was like $59.95. I know it was only $30, but that really pissed me off, that they somehow think I'm stupid and sending me this $59 invoice that I paid instead of $24.95. So I reached out to my attorney and I guess they sent a letter because I got the rest refunded. Now that could happen if it was $300 or $3,000.

Joan:

Also, you know those scams where you click on the wrong link and you know they text you and there's a package waiting for you and for just another dollar you'll get it. In the beginning some of us were stupid enough to click it and lost money with that. You know I'm going to raise my hand. I was one of those people and lost money with that. You know I'm going to raise my hand. I was one of those people. Or click on an email. Like two weeks ago I got an email from Norton that looked so real, telling me I owed money on my old Norton account. I was like I called. I actually called them. So even educated people can get scammed.

Claude:

Yeah, especially, they are getting more and more intuitive and very smart. They are elevating their game, yep, yep. So it's clearly out there, yeah.

Joan:

So the good news is that if you get hacked like that, our company goes out and not only hires a private investigator, but you're protected up to $3 million. So if someone takes out a loan in your name, worst case scenario, they're going to either erase that they're going to get that erased, but God forbid not you're going to get reimbursed. So that has really been helpful for many, many, many people. They'll also restore your identity, Like if there are people out there attacking you, like, let's say, someone didn't like your besties show and they start attacking you. The ID shield actually scans the web for negative comments about you and they help you restore your good name, but all this for having an attorney in your pocket. So if you get stopped by a cop, you open the app and you press the little red button and you have an attorney or a paralegal on your side within a few minutes At your fingertip. At your fingertip or you know, they'll even create a will for you. That's the next service I'm going to get.

Joan:

It's included in your service a will I hadn't thought about why I needed a will, but I'm beginning to see the reasons for your family. So things like that that are really powerful. You know you get in trouble, you call them. Someone tries to attack you. They can help you and write letters to those people to protect you. So it's a way of feeling like a rich person because you know that if someone tries to mess with you and then all sorts of things like our hair gets ruined at the hairdresser, you know they burn the wrong color through it.

Jess:

They'll get you restitution, so it's helpful in all sorts of capacities Well things we never dreamt up.

Joan:

I have a flyer. In fact, if anyone wants to, if you reach out to me and I'll give them my number, I'll text you something that's called 101 Reasons to Use an Attorney and to Use this Service.

Claude:

More or less. This company is a legal service at your fingertips. Thank, you?

Joan:

Yes, and the saying is like you have an attorney in your pocket for like usually under a dollar a day, like I spoke to a friend of mine who just had shelled out $1,500 to an attorney to help protect yeah, I guess someone was trying to badmouth their company or whatever and he's like $1,500 fee to the attorney where he'd still be paying. He'd have like a couple of years of service for everything with this. So, yeah, but more important, it's also a way to work with your friends. I have one of my best friends that I'm working with. We've brought in other close friends and so we're beginning to mastermind together and kind of collaborate, just like you two do, and starting to make money together, and that is even more fun than ever.

Claude:

So let me ask you something. Like, you say that this company is with friends, but are your friends lawyers?

Joan:

So I'm trying to understand how it works, people, so you can add it on and tack it on to anything you're doing and add it as an extra service, in a sense, because we're letting people know that they not only need this kind of protection, but that they can make money sharing this kind of protection with their best friends or with other people on the world. Not everyone on my team started off as a best friend.

Claude:

So what's your relationship with those friends? Because you say that you didn't start as a best friend. So what's your relationship with those friends? Because you say that you didn't start as a friend but then became friends. How did that relationship started?

Joan:

I'm a people person. I'm a people person, so I talked to everyone, you know. First of all, I've discovered that. I would say hmm, I think I read some weird statistic that something like 70% of all people around the world have experienced hacking. Or the civilized world, we have the web, we have advanced institutions, so everyone's been hacked, at least, even if they don't know about it. So, number one, but I talk to people my Uber driver that we have a program for Uber drivers. So I talked to my Uber driver.

Joan:

So I'm constantly talking to people the restaurant I went down the street. I'm putting him on the legal shield because we have plans for individuals, families and business owners. We have great plans for business owners. So I just talk to everyone. And then, once you start talking to people and they start to say, oh yeah, I want to sign up to work with them, Then I like to keep talking to people, help you brainstorm. My whole thing is how can we transform our lives together? How can I help you? Whether you're with LegalShield or whoever you are, my life's mission is to uplift, heal and inspire you to be your best self ever, and financial freedom and protection against attacks is one way.

Jess:

So, joan, you're hitting on. I think the part that I found most fascinating about your story, too, is that, in addition to being a legal advocate, you also were there as the emotional and spiritual healer after. Because I think the part that people don't talk about when you're dealing with identity theft especially the financial portion and the burden of it is the either guilt or embarrassment that people might feel and giving those individuals some type of tools or ways to overcome. That are never a part of right. Even if you do have a lawyer and can pay for the lawyer, that's not going to be a part of the service. So I'm curious, from your kind of holistic approach, what are the ways or things that you recommend to someone who is trying to recover from that emotional violation of sorts, if you will?

Joan:

It is. It's like a psychic rape, it's an attack on you. It feels terrible, it feels like being out of control and it's an attack on our very being. So to work with that it's, I guess, three-pronged approach, or something you want to work with the physicality of it. How do I shut down my credit? How do I shut down this attack? How do I get the money restored, or my goodwill, whatever it is that was taken? How do I fix it? Number one so that's over here. Number two what do I need to do internally to bring myself to a state of balance?

Joan:

Now, that's the harder work, because where did I let my guard down? Did I have warning signs that this was going to happen? Where did I? Where was the point that I said yes and I sent them the money, say, but in my heart I wondered if it was a scam? Where did I ignore my inner voice? And that happens. My daughter had that happen to her in London. After a few times we started to get the money she got this bad, that bad feeling in your stomach.

Joan:

So I'm going to say that the moment you have that wonderment, is this legitimate? Or that bad feeling inside? Chances are it's an accurate feeling, but most of us go oh, I'm just being too cautious or it's just me. But I teach people. You know, I'm a coach. I teach people. How can you listen to the voice within you, have a voice that's trying to make you feel uneasy? It's that uneasiness that's the clue in anything.

Joan:

I remember years ago I had won a major lawsuit and I had all this money and I was asked to put money in an investment. I put a $50,000 down payment on new housing in Florida or something which I didn't even live there. And I started to get dreams of a friend of mine who had died, who had been a shaman, and he said, Joan, if your stomach starts hurting, you're going to know it's me If you're making a decision. And I started waking up in the middle of the night in an anxiety attack, sweat coming down, and I remembered what he said and after about the fourth day, I realized that I was getting a warning sign to get my money back, that this was a bad investment. And I actually reached out and I was able to get my money back at the last moment because my shamanic friend from the heavenly realms started sending me messages to wake up. Took that out of you, yeah. So where are you ignoring the feelings?

Jess:

that you're getting your discernment Okay, so pay attention to discernment.

Joan:

Yes, and it is in discernment. That's an art form learning how to discern For sure.

Jess:

Let's say it does happen to you. So those are three great tips of how and what to do from an emotional perspective. If it does happen to you and you are embarrassed, you can learn from those mistakes. But is there something outside of it? Like maybe it goes back to like the meditation, like what can somebody do to help them move past, now that it's already occurred?

Joan:

Okay. So it already occurred. You, you know you have a team that's fixing it for you. You started to look at where. So when I take clients and I start working with them, step one is where did you ignore that voice? Okay, Step two is learning the art of discernment, and I have a technique I teach people how to use discernment. So we start looking at all your transactions and the things that you're doing to make sure everything is clear. And where else in your life are you out of balance? So we can start to bring all that into harmony, because, remember, it's never just one thing that's out of balance. You're not paying attention to the messages. Where else, what's happening in your relationship or your home? Where have you lost track? So we start to. I guess it's a rebuilding phase.

Jess:
